About This Role:





A vital member of the team, the Office of Recruitment and Admissions (ORA) is seeking an Office Specialist I to provide support in helping students apply for admission, get admitted, and take steps to continue as a K-State student. Examples of core work functions include:



Provide a high level of customer service by staffing front desks for the Office of Recruitment and Admissions and Enrollment Management Central



  • Acquires and maintains a vast amount of institutional knowledge to support customer service functions related to the offices of Recruitment and Admissions, Student Financial Assistance, and Office of the Registrar

  • Support campus visit program by greeting prospective students and their families, assisting in appointment requests, and ensure facilities are set up and ready for use.





    Communication and Document Support



    • Open and process departmental mail to include - routing returned mail and scanning of academic documents.

    • Monitor active departmental email account and respond and/or assign messages depending on content.





      Operational Support



      • Utilize university systems to maintain student records and critical processes regarding the admission and enrollment of new students.

        What You'll Need to Succeed:





        Minimum Qualifications:



        • Six months of relevant experience



          Preferred Qualifications:



          • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field. (education may be substituted for experiece as determined by hiring committee)

          • Three-four years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work.

          • Experience with student information systems.

          • Ability to maintain shifting priorities.

          • Previous work experience/training in student affairs.



            Other Requirements:



            • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
