About This Role:





The Department of Personal Financial Planning, within the College of Health and Human Sciences at Kansas State University, is currently seeking a 9-month Professor of Practice/Teaching Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) or Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of Personal Financial Planning.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Teach on-line and/or on-campus courses as required for the B.S., M.S., and graduate certificate programs

  • Advise and mentor graduate and/or undergraduate students

  • Cultivate and support relationships with industry partners

  • Provide service to the department, college, and university



    This 9-month position at the rank of professor of practice, teaching assistant professor, or assistant professor has a preferred starting date of August 2023. To be considered for the rank of Professor of Practice, applicants must have substantial practice experience. To be considered for the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor, applicants must have a terminal degree in a related field. To be considered for the rank of Assistant Professor, applicants must have a terminal degree in a related field and the ability to develop/maintain a productive research program in area/s of expertise. Although not guaranteed, non-tenure track positions have potential for promotion into an assistant professor tenure-track position for a qualified candidate.

          What You'll Need to Succeed:





          Minimum Requirements:



          • Earned M.S. degree (by start date) in Personal Financial Planning, Consumer Economics, Couple and Family Therapy, or closely related field

          • Demonstrated content expertise to teach core classes in the Personal Financial Planning curriculum

          • Ability to work effectively with undergraduate and graduate students in a multidisciplinary environment

          • Tenure-track only:



            • Earned terminal degree (by start date) in Personal Financial Planning, Consumer Economics, Couple and Family Therapy, or closely related field

            • Ability to conduct active program of research in areas of expertise, publish, and seek external funding







              Preferred Qualifications:



              • Earned terminal degree (by start date) in Personal Financial Planning, Consumer Economics, Couple and Family Therapy, or closely related field

              • Expertise to teach advanced financial planning and/or financial therapy content

              • Ability to promote relationships with industry partners

              • Relevant professional designations or licenses

              • Excellent online teaching experience

              • Relevant practitioner experience

              • Active membership in relevant professional organizations, such as:



                • Association of Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE)

                • Financial Planning Association (FPA)

                • American Council on Consumer Interests (ACCI)

                • Financial Therapy Association (FTA)







                  Other Requirements:



                  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
