Overview Position: RN/Registered Nurse or LPN/Licensed Practical
Nurse --- Clinic (Float Pool) Schedule: 8am --- 5pm (Monday thru
Friday) Location: University Kansas Health System --- St. Francis
(Various Clinics) Registered Nurses/Licensed Practical Nurses
function under the direction of the Nurse Director/Manager and is
responsible for coordination of safe patient care delivery for
specified and diverse patient populations. The RN assesses
patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes patient goals,
evaluates care delivery, and continually revised the plan of care
to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual,
developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family. The RN
Delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes. The RN

Responsibilities Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse
(LPN) duties include: The overall direction and supervision of all
patient care during his/her shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and
skill to carry out the nursing process when providing patient care.
Satisfies the established standards of the nursing practice.
Supervises and delegates patient care tasks to LVN/LPN or CNA and
other patient care team members. Promotes teamwork with physicians
and personnel of other departments. Perform other duties as
assigned Recording the patient's history. Giving medication as
prescribed by the physician. Taking vital signs such as blood
pressure, temperature, and weight. Basic wound care including
cleaning and bandaging injured areas. Giving injections of
medications. Providing immunizations. Accountable for self and
self-actions: Engages in self-evaluation of practice and takes
action to improve knowledge and skills. Promotes consensus building
and applies techniques of conflict resolution and conduct
improvement. Retains accountability for quality of care given to
the patient. Qualifications RN Requirements: Registered Nurse
Associates Degree, BSN degree preferred Current State of Kansas RN
licensure. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. At least
one year in similar health care setting preferred. Basic computer
skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office and EPIC, preferred LPN
Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate from
certified LPN school program. Registered with an accredited agency
for LPNs. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Work
experience in a comparable health care setting is preferred.
Interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to learn to perform
direct patient care, basic nursing procedures. Ability to interpret
and communicate data relevant to patients--- needs and responses to
care.
