Overview Position: RN/Registered Nurse - Device Clinic - Heart & Vascular Center Schedule: 8am - 5:00pm (Monday thru Friday) Location: University Kansas Health System - St. Francis Heart & Vascular Center Registered Nurses function under the direction of the Nurse Director/Manager and is responsible for coordination of safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations. The RN assesses patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes patient goals, evaluates care delivery, and continually revised the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family. The RN Delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to carry out the nursing process when providing patient care. Satisfies the established standards of the nursing practice. Supervises and delegates patient care tasks to LVN/LPN or CNA and other patient care team members. Promotes teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments.

Perform other duties as assigned Accountable for self and self-actions: Engages in self-evaluation of practice and takes action to improve knowledge and skills. Promotes consensus building and applies techniques of conflict resolution and conduct improvement. Retains accountability for quality of care given to the patient. Must maintain a current certification in BLS. Demonstrated leadership abilities; able to work under stressful situations. Possesses good oral and written communication skills. A demonstrated ability in interpersonal relationships which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolutions, and facilitates staff development.

Desirable characteristics include at least one year of experience as an R.N., preferably in the area of application. Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress. Must possess a current Kansas License as a Registered Nurse.

Basic computer skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and EPIC software; preferred
