Mental Health is a non-profit Certified Community Behavioral Health
Clinic serving 10 counties across North-Central Kansas. Our crisis
teams respond when people are overwhelmed, unsafe, or unsure where
to turn — and right now, we need compassionate professionals ready
to step in and help. This role directly supports individuals in
crisis and helps keep people out of emergency rooms, hospitals, and
the justice system by connecting them with timely, community-based
care. Why Our Crisis Case Managers Are So Important As a Crisis
Case Manager , you are often one of the first people someone sees
during a mental health crisis. You’ll work in the community
alongside a clinician or peer support specialist, providing
in-person support, helping de-escalate difficult situations, and
guiding individuals toward safety and ongoing care. This is
meaningful, fast-paced work for someone who stays calm under
pressure and truly wants to make a difference in people’s lives.
What You’ll Be Doing: Responding quickly to mental health crises in
homes, workplaces, or public settings Providing face-to-face crisis
intervention and de-escalation Coordinating care with clinicians,
first responders, and community partners Assisting with safety
planning and connecting individuals to services and resources
Completing timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health
record Transporting clients and traveling to service locations
using company vehicles Participating in supervision, training, and

hear from you. Requirements: Required : Bachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university with a major in gerontology,
nursing, health, social work, counseling, human development, or
family studies, or related area as approved by KDADS SCA/OAA
Program Manager, and that individual has at least one (1) year
experience in the aging and /or disability field; or A Registered
Professional Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Kansas with
at least one (1) year experience in the aging and/or disability
field Strong oral and written communication skills using the
English language. Basic personal computer skills which enable the
entry, retrieval and use of electronic data. A valid driver’s
license and automobile liability insurance maintained in accordance
with Pawnee policy and procedure. Preferred: Knowledge of the needs
and challenges of adults and children who experience Severe and
Persistent Mental Illness and Severe Emotional Disturbance.
Experience with Microsoft Office software. Results of criminal and
all other applicable background checks must meet the approval of
Pawnee Mental Health Services.
