Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Salina, Kansas,
67401! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty:
Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours
per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years
required License: Must hold a valid state or compact license at
time of submission Certifications: Required certifications include
BLS and TNCC Must-Have: MEDITECH experience required; pediatric and
adult experience required Description: MEDITECH experience is
mandatory. No exceptions. A minimum of 2 years of nursing
experience is required. The contract length is 13 weeks. Shifts are
from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Every other weekend is required. Candidates
must be willing to float to four medical units. Floating may occur
based on the needs of the facility. The nurse-to-patient ratio is
1:6 in a 40-bed unit. Patients will include all surgical cases,
excluding cardiac. Nursing duties will encompass pre/post-operative
care. Nurses will manage a variety of medical conditions, including
orthopedic, neurological, trauma, general surgical, and urology
patients. Skills needed include the use of rapid response/code
teams and knowledge of endocrine/metabolic care, gastrointestinal
care, and renal care. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills are
essential. Medication management, including heparin, insulin, and
PCA, is required. Experience with neurological and psychiatric
care, especially pre/post-neurosurgery, is necessary. Wound care,
including the use of wound vacs, is part of the job. Isolation
precautions must be followed consistently. Basic life support and
trauma nursing core courses are essential certifications. Physical
support services available include respiratory services, pharmacy,
and physical therapy. Candidates must be able to handle all age
groups, from infants to geriatrics. The daily patient census is
typically between 25 to 30 patients. Prior experience with hospital
community settings is preferred. Candidates should be ready to
adjust to a dynamic working environment. This role requires strong
