About This Role: K-State's Office of Recruitment and Admissions is hiring for a Coordinator for Special Populations Recruitment. This role uses a personalized approach, to engage in a high-touch customer service model to directly assist prospective and admitted undergraduate students. Specific focus will be on transfer students, nontraditional, military-affiliated and U.S. citizens living abroad. This position will be assigned a geographic area and will travel independently for approximately 30% of the time to engage with prospective students and relationship build with important stakeholders. Responsibilities of this role include: * Apply knowledge of University admissions standards, transcript evaluation, military-related documentation, transfer advising resources/practices, and scholarship and financial aid opportunities to best advise prospective students based on their individual needs, interests, and aptitudes. * Create and execute outreach to prospective students such as calling campaigns, text messaging, email, chat, and mailings to increase conversion rates from application to enrollment. * Assist students by setting up appointments or making connections with advisors, academic success coaches, or program leaders, financial aid, accommodations, etc. * Assist in the development of and participate in on and off-campus events, orientation and enrollment programs, and support other recruitment efforts, both in person and virtually, as assigned. * Independently travel within a designated geographic region and determine priorities for scheduling visits and event attendance * Work with and nurture relationships with key partners in community colleges, military-affiliated organizations, community groups, etc. * Utilize technology to effectively support communication with key constituents. * Leverage the CRM and other data resources to analyze recruitment efforts, assess the effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements that lead to increases in admitted and enrolled students. * Engage in cross-training and serve students at the Enrollment Management "one-stop" center This position will be housed in the Berney Family Welcome Center - an $18 million dollar University facility. It is the premier location for prospective students, families, current students, employers, donors, alumni, and community members. In addition, this position is eligible for a remote work agreement allowing for a combination of working in the office and working remotely. What You'll Need to Succeed: Minimum Qualifications: * A Bachelor's degree at the time of appointment Preferred Qualifications: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment * Strong social and communication skills and the ability to engage with others of diverse backgrounds * Comfort in planning and conducting extensive travel independently, including evenings and weekends * Possess a high level of energy and able to work under strict deadlines. * Self-motivation, a team attitude, and a consistent commitment to a high standard of excellence are preferred * Demonstrated proficiency with technology and multiple computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Office including knowledge of Excel, customer relationship manager software) and efficient use of e-mail * Prior personal experience, knowledge or familiarity with the needs of transfer, military-affiliated and/or nontraditonal students is helpful * Native or near-native Spanish language proficiency is helpful Other Requirements: * Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment * Valid driver's license upon employment and ability to drive. * Ability to lift 40 lbs.
