Kansas State University and the Department of Applied Human Sciences, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is seeking an HR and Enrollment Specialist to join their team at the Center for Child Development (CCD). This position will support the CCD through handling payroll and onboarding for all students and staff, along with managing the day-to-day HR functions. This position will also serve as the enrollment specialist, providing support to families throughout the enrollment process, maintaining the waitlist, and assisting with tuition billing. The HR and Enrollment Specialist reports to the CCD Director. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Serve as primary point of contact for CCD employees (current and prospective) with questions regarding benefits, time and leave, payroll, etc. Initiate KDHE background checks and complete appointment paperwork for all new hires Enter end dates and pay rate changes in HRIS for hourly student appointments, along with funding changes for all employees Enter leave in ProCare time clock system for non-exempt staff and in HRIS for exempt staff, and upload export file into HRIS each pay period Post hourly student positions on CCD Handshake account and all staff recruitments on CCD social media accounts Work to create and maintain positive workplace culture and boost employee morale, presenting ideas for improvement to management team, assisting with implementation, and collaborating with CHHS HR Analyst when needed Communicate with interested families about the enrollment and waitlist processes Maintain waitlists and review incoming enrollment applications and enrollment packets to ensure accuracy Continually update files of all enrolled children to ensure compliance with department and licensing regulations, including but not limited to verifying emergency contacts and monitoring immunizations records Aid Assistant Director in compiling and entering data in ProCare to generate monthly tuition statements, distributing them to parents in a timely manner Why Join Us: The Department of Applied Human Sciences is dedicated to making a difference in people's lives through research, teaching, engagement, outreach, service and clinical intervention. The Center for Child Development (CCD) serves as the clinical training site for students enrolled in the state-approved and nationally accredited undergraduate preservice teacher education program in early childhood education; provides quality childcare to K-State and the larger campus community; is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC); is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE); and meets high quality food service standards of the Child and Adult Care Food Program. What You'll Need to Succeed: Minimum Requirements: High school diploma Two years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications: Associate's or bachelor's degree in human resources, human resources management, or related field Experience with enrollment management Experience with HRIS Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Strong oral and written communication skills Knowledge of employment law Knowledge of and/or experience with child development centers Strong organizational and time management skills Other Requirements: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment Salary Range: Salary range for this position is $15.42 - $18.00/hour.
