About This Role:

The College of Architecture, Planning and Design is seeking a Fabrication Specialist for the college shop facilities. The goal for this position is to assist in the operations of the shop facilities as learning environment to provide instruction to undergraduate and graduate students in collaboration with APDesign faculty, promote safe practices, and to ensure working order of equipment as well as acquisition of appropriate consumables and materials.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Requires a bachelor's degree.
* This position may use an educational equivalency of eight years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Desire to engage and work with students with 5 years or more of welding experience.
* Willingness to learn TIG welding Woodworking experience.
* Affinity for fine craftsmanship.
* Advanced painting experience.
* CNC/Digital modeling/3D print experience.
* Plastic/Composite knowledge Machining experience.
* Electrical & wiring experience.

Other Requirements:

* Must have or obtain within six months of employment: OSHA 10, Hazardous Materials Training, Hazardous Communications Training, Hazardous Waste Handling, Certified forklift operator.
* Proficient in MIG welding and metal fabrication.
* Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$17.00 to $21.68 per hour.
