Job Description:

but are not limited to:Screening staff members at the beginning and
part way through each shiftAll staff members are wearing face masks

PPE including gloves, face masks, face shields, and gowns, if ever
neededOur community is utilizing telemedicine as much as possible.

of any COVID-19 positive cases at our communitiesJob SummaryThe
Certified Medication Aide assists in the administering of
medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician,
under the direction of the attending physician, the nurse
supervisor or charge nurse, and the RCC Services. The
administration of medications shall be in accordance with
established nursing standards, the policies, procedures, and
practices of this Community, and the requirements of this
state.Duties and Responsibilities:Comply with the Community's
personnel, safety, and corporate policies and proceduresComply with
the nursing department's policies and proceduresReport witnessed or
reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the
Executive Director, RCC or Unit ManagerTreat residents, family
members, visitors, and team members with respect and
dignityMaintain the confidentiality of all resident and family
informationReport to work on time and as scheduledReport any
complaints/grievances made by residents to the RCC Services or per
policyParticipate and cooperate with any Community surveys
(inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested
by the Executive Director or RCC ServicesMaintain a clean and
organized medication cart and medication roomAlways protect
resident privacy when administering medication, knock before
entering the resident's roomAccurately and safely prepare,
administer, and document the oral and/or topical medications that
are commonly used in this Community that may be ordered for
resident use by the attending physician or the Medical
DirectorDocument and report errors in the administration of
medications immediately upon discoveryEnsure that all medications
administered are properly labeled and follow Community policy on
storage, labeling and dating of medicationsComplete medication
charting per Community policy and procedureAssist with following
Community policies and procedures regarding the destroying of
medicationsAssist in documenting and removing medications that are
discontinued by the attending physicianFollow Community procedures
governing drug receipt errors, including notifying the delivery
source and the RCC ServicesFollow Community procedures in holding
medications for residents who are out of the Community or per
physician's orderHonor the resident's right to refuse
medicationsObserve and verify that medication is ingested or
applied as directed. Document any instance where prescribed
medication is not administered including reason(s) for
refusalPromptly notify the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, or RCC
Services of any refusals or reactions to medications by
residentsEnsure that no medication is administered without a
written, signed, dated order from an attending licensed
physicianVerify the identity of the resident before administering
the medication treatmentFollow the Community's procedures allowing
residents to self-administer their medicationsAssist the Nurse
Supervisor/Charge Nurse in monitoring and documenting all aspects
of such self-administeringNotify nurse when medication refills are
neededBe familiar with the meaning and usage of common medical
abbreviations, symbols, and terms relative to the administration of
medications as used by the Community, pharmacists, and
physiciansUse personal protective equipment when performing
procedures that involve exposure to blood or body fluidsReport all
hazardous conditions and equipment to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge
Nurse immediatelyJob Requirements:Must have a valid CMA
certification that is in good standing with the StateIf required to
operate a motor vehicle for business purposes, must successfully
complete the requirements contained in Company's Motor Vehicles
policyMust have basic computer skillsMust be able to read, write,
speak, and understand the English languageMust be able to work
beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when
necessaryMust be able to assist in the evacuation of residents
during emergency situationsMust be able to perform the essential
position functions of the job with, or without reasonable
accommodationMust be able to meet the general health requirements
set forth by State regulations and Company policy which may include
medical and physical examinationsEmployee is required to use a
transfer/gait belt or to obtain the assistance of another employee
when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying
objects in excess of 25 pounds. The employee must be aware that
during the normal, routine performance of the essential functions,
some of the following body movements may occur naturally, although
they may not be a requirement of the job
