The Digital Development Officer is responsible for lead identification of major gift prospects and the referral of these prospects to the appropriate development team. This position engages a diverse range of prospects, driving discussion and handling responses through multiple channels to generate major gift leads interested in giving to K-State and/or want to know more. The Officer is responsible for executing contact and visit strategies relating to their goals. This position utilizes prospect reports and assess information from the Prospect Analytics and Research team to drive outreach methodology, source new opportunities through follow-up on internal shared leads and convert self-directed contact efforts into leads. This position is highly collaborative with colleagues and works closely with University and Foundation leadership. This position also requires contact with high-level alumni, donors, and volunteers. Travel is limited but may be necessary. A day in the life of a Digital Development Officer could be: Implement a multi-channel prospecting approach across phone, email, video, social and direct mail to reach a broad base of potential donors each day. Generate and refer major gift leads to universitywide or collegiate development.
Apply data analytics to develop and execute strategies to make initial contact with current and prospective donors.
Meet with development and Foundation colleagues, and University partners, as needed, to refer potential major gift leads and collaboratively outline next steps.
Share updates to biographical data and communications preferences learned through outreach with foundation and alumni association colleagues to strengthen quality of data in customer relationship management database.
Utilize resources to provide regular progress reports on prospect identification and qualification. Complete and file reports of all contacts and proposals in a timely manner.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree ? Experience in a professional office with focus on providing excellent customer service
Ability to prioritize and organize sophisticated projects and plans to deliver results
Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with a diverse client base
Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on engaged listening, and ability to work within a team
Results and team-oriented
A valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record What we want: Experience calling, conducting face-to-face appointments, managing relationships, creating and communicating proposals, and other elements of client/donor relationship or sales-related activities
