The Events student provides administrative support to the
Stewardship & Donor Engagement department in efforts to show
gratitude and impact to K-State's philanthropic supporters. This
position is a temporary part time, non-exempt student position.
A day in the life of an Events Assistant student could be:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the mission of the
Kansas State University Foundation as it relates to the
educational, research and service goals of the University.
- Assist with pre and post event set-up and tear down,
deliveries, and other departmental errands.
- Assist at events during business hours as well as nights and
weekends.
- Manage and record attendee registrations via email and
voicemail, prepare event attendee lists, nametags, place cards and
computer-generated reports.
- Create and prepare donor and internal staff gifts and
mailers.
- Manage event, catering, and donor gift storeroom inventory.
Keep inventory up to date electronically.
- Provide general back-up and clerical assistance for the
stewardship and donor engagement departments and assist with
scanning and filing of pertinent documents.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Must be currently enrolled in coursework at Kansas State
University and be able to commit a minimum of 12 hours/week per
semester; 15-20 hours/week preferred
- Advanced operating knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to private
donor and student information
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work
independently
- Ability to enter data accurately and ability to meet
deadlines
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal
skills
- Must be able to work closely with all internal departments and
external clients
- A valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving

Physical Demands:
- Work is primarily sedentary but at times will require physical
exertion such as long periods of sitting or standing; recurring
bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar
activities.
- Requires recurring lifting of heavy items and must be able to
lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
Salary Description
$12/hr
