About the Position:

The Field Support Technician reports directly to the Senior Field Technician and/or Technical Director. Manhattan/Bronx field tech position is responsible for ensuring the daily operational support to the designated region and as needed, to other YAI regions.

Key responsibilities:

--- Oversee all site equipment install and deployments

--- Providing service and customer support during field visits or dispatches

--- Managing all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing

--- Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions

--- Document workflow processes to further understand site needs

--- Responds and updates ticketing system requests accurately

--- Demonstrates professionalism and ability to work closely with the customer to meet their needs

--- Coordinate and communicate with service providers and vendors for problem resolution

--- Communicating effectively with requestors and customers to set timelines and expectations to SLAs

--- Ensure network connectivity to the desktop, printers, copiers and scanners

--- Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring desktop operations

--- Assists with inventory tracking for respective sites

--- Document resolution steps in knowledge base system

--- Performs walk-through assessments for new site installation needs

Education and Experience:

--- 2+ years of personal computer knowledge and troubleshooting

--- Excellent technical knowledge of PC and desktop hardware and internal components, operating systems, and networking principles.

--- Understanding of utilizing helpdesk ticketing systems

--- Thorough knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office.

--- Understanding of networking principles and technologies (ie. DHCP, DNS)

--- Understanding of networking troubleshooting techniques (ie. Ping, traceroute etc)

--- Specific knowledge, training, or experience in any of the following areas desirable: Active Directory, Citrix, Cisco, TCP/IP.

--- Ability to reference, understand and utilize technical manuals and procedural documentation.

--- Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.

--- Strong written and oral communication skills.

--- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

--- Ability to understand the organization's goals and objectives.

--- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.

--- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment while developing and maintaining strong lines of communication with staff

--- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

--- Strong customer-service orientation.
